6 min read Updated
What is it?
The Analytics (GA4 + GSC) screen joins two Google tools in one place:
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4) counts visits to your site, called sessions.
- Google Search Console (GSC) counts how often Google showed your site (impressions) and how often people clicked it (clicks).
The page header says Analytics layer and GA4 + Google Search Console.
Why use it?
- To see your organic traffic, clicks and conversions for any date range.
- To find your best landing pages, devices, traffic sources and Google queries.
- To see how much traffic AI assistants such as ChatGPT send you.
- To check data quality, such as visits recorded on other hostnames.
Before you start
Connect GA4, Search Console or both. See Connect your data. Data runs through two days ago, and report ranges end three days before today.

KPI cards
| Card | Sub-line | Change shown as |
|---|---|---|
| Organic Sessions | — | % |
| Total Clicks (GSC) | — | % |
| Avg CTR | Across N impressions | pp |
| Conversions | GA4 key events, all channels | % |
| New Users | Organic, first-time visitors | % |
| Engagement Rate | N engaged sessions | pp |
| Avg Session Duration | Organic sessions (shown as minutes and seconds, like 2m 15s) | % |
| Revenue | GA4 purchase_revenue, all channels | % |
CTR (click-through rate) is clicks divided by impressions. Rates change in percentage points (pp). If a source is not connected, the card says so, for example Connect Google Analytics to see sessions. or Connect Search Console to see clicks.
Sessions vs Clicks chart
Sessions vs Clicks (GA4 organic sessions overlaid on GSC clicks) draws two lines: GA4 Organic Sessions and GSC Clicks. When GSC is off, the legend adds (not connected). The two lines will not match exactly. See Reading charts.
Tables
| Table | Columns |
|---|---|
| Top landing pages (top 8) | Page, Sessions, New Users, Engaged, Eng. Rate, Avg Duration, Conversions, Revenue |

| GSC · Query performance (top 10 + (not set)) | Query, Clicks, Impressions, CTR, Avg Position |
| GSC · Top pages (top 10) | Page, Clicks, Impressions, CTR, Avg Position |
The (not set) row in the query table is traffic Google does not tie to any query, for privacy. Read (not set) explained.
Top campaigns
Top campaigns (Named GA4 campaigns) is a list of your named GA4 campaigns in the range.
Traffic by hostname
Traffic by hostname (Data-quality check) lists the hostnames that recorded sessions. If other hostnames exist besides your main one, you see a warning like: ⚠ N sessions recorded under N other hostnames besides your main hostname — mirrors, translated copies or referrer spam. Worth reviewing before trusting cross-hostname totals.
LLM referral traffic
LLM referral traffic (GA4 sessions where source matches an AI assistant) shows one card per AI assistant with its sessions, N conv. (conversions) and % change. See LLM referral traffic and AI referral traffic.
Example
For example, Avg CTR shows 3.2% with +0.4pp. Last period it was 2.8%. The rate went up by 0.4 percentage points, which is about a 14% relative rise.
Tips
- If Traffic by hostname shows a warning, check those hostnames before you trust total sessions.
- Use Top landing pages from LLM referrals to see which pages AI assistants send people to.
