What is it?
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is Google's tool for measuring what people do on your website. Prism uses it for sessions (visits), new users, engagement rate, conversions and revenue.
Why use it?
GA4 data powers the visitor side of Prism. You see it on the Analytics (GA4 + GSC) screen, in Advanced Analytics, and in the LLM referral traffic section, which shows visits from AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Perplexity. An LLM referral is a visit that came from an AI assistant.
Before you start
- You need a Google account that can view the GA4 property.
- Select the right project in the Current Project switcher.
How to use it
Open Integrations
In the left sidebar, under System, click Integrations & MCP.
Start the connection
On the Google Analytics 4 card, click Connect Google Analytics 4. Google opens.
Sign in and allow access
Choose your Google account. Allow Prism to view your Google Analytics data.
Pick your property
Prism shows Signed in as with your email and Choose the GA4 property to connect to this project. Each item shows the account name and property ID. Pick one and click Connect property.
Finish
You see Finishing setup…, then Google Analytics 4 connected and Redirecting you back to Prism….

Before GA4 is connected, the Analytics screen shows messages such as Connect Google Analytics to see sessions. Once it is connected and synced, the KPI cards Organic Sessions, New Users, Engagement Rate, Conversions and Revenue fill in.
Understanding the data
- First connection: up to 180 days of history.
- Daily sync: around 18:46 IST.
- Data runs through two days ago. Report ranges end three days before today.
See Data sync schedule.
Tips
- Connect Google Search Console as well to see clicks next to sessions.
- Check the Traffic by hostname section on the Analytics screen. It warns you if sessions are recorded under other hostnames.
