What is it?
Google Search Console is a free Google tool. It shows how your site performs in Google search. Prism uses it for clicks, impressions, CTR (clicks divided by impressions) and average position (where your page appears in results).
Why use it?
Search Console data powers the search side of Prism: the Analytics (GA4 + GSC) screen, Advanced Analytics reports such as Keywords Breakdown, and the GSC · Top queries panel on the Unified Dashboard.
Before you start
- You need a Google account that can view the site in Google Search Console.
- Select the right project in the Current Project switcher. The connection belongs to that project.
How to use it
Open Integrations
In the left sidebar, under System, click Integrations & MCP. You can also click Property settings on the Analytics screen.
Start the connection
On the Google Search Console card, click Connect Google Search Console. The button shows Redirecting… and Google opens.
Sign in and allow access
Choose your Google account. Allow Prism to view your Search Console data.
Pick your site
Prism shows Verifying your Google account…, then Signed in as with your email. Choose the site to connect to this project. Each site shows your permission level. Click Connect site.
Finish
You see Finishing setup…, then Google Search Console connected and Redirecting you back to Prism….
Understanding the screen
Card status
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| ● Connected | Prism can read your data. The card shows your site name and "synced through" with a date. |
| + Available | Not connected yet. Click the connect button. |
| ⚠ Needs attention | The last sync failed, or Google access was removed or expired. See Reconnect or disconnect. |
| … Checking | Prism is checking the connection. |
| ⚠ Can't reach server | Your browser could not reach Prism to check the status. Refresh the page. |
On the Analytics (GA4 + GSC) screen, the Google Search Console card shows Not connected, Connected or Needs attention, plus Last synced with a date or No syncs yet.
Understanding the data
- The first time you connect, Prism loads up to 180 days of history.
- After that, it syncs every day, around 07:00 IST.
- Data runs through two days ago. Report ranges end three days before today.
Full details: Data sync schedule.
Some searches are hidden by Google for privacy. Prism shows them as a (not set) row so totals match Search Console. See (not set) explained.
Tips
- Connect Google Analytics 4 too, so you can see sessions and conversions next to clicks.
- If you have several sites, connect the one that matches this project.
