Reconnect or Disconnect
Fix a connection that says Needs attention by reauthenticating, or disconnect Search Console or GA4 from a project.
2 min read Updated
Sometimes a Google connection stops working. This page shows you how to fix it, and how to remove a connection you no longer need.
Why a connection needs attention
A card shows ⚠ Needs attention when:
- the last sync failed, or
- Google access was removed or has expired. For example, someone removed Prism from their Google account permissions.
The card shows the error text, or The last sync failed. Reauthenticate to restore the connection. On the Analytics screen, the connector card shows Needs attention.
Reconnect (reauthenticate)
Open Integrations
In the left sidebar, under System, click Integrations & MCP.
Click Reauthenticate
On the card that says ⚠ Needs attention, click Reauthenticate.
Sign in to Google again
Choose a Google account that still has access, and allow read-only access.
Pick the site or property
Choose the same site or GA4 property as before, then click Connect site or Connect property.
Reconnecting clears the error. The card goes back to ● Connected, and the daily sync starts again.
Disconnect
Disconnect when you no longer want this project to use a source. A source that is not connected is not synced.
Open Integrations
Go to the Integrations screen.
Click Disconnect
On the card, click Disconnect. The button shows Disconnecting… while it works.
Disconnecting in Prism does not remove Prism from your Google account. To do that too, see Permissions and privacy.
