What Google access Prism asks for, why it is read-only, and how to remove Prism's access from your Google account at any time.

2 min read Updated

When you connect Google Search Console or Google Analytics 4, Google asks you to give Prism permission. This page explains exactly what Prism asks for and how you stay in control.

What Prism asks for

Prism asks Google for read-only access only:

PermissionWhat it allows
analytics.readonlyRead your Google Analytics 4 reports.
webmasters.readonlyRead your Google Search Console data.
Your Google emailShows which account you signed in with, as Signed in as and your email.

"Read-only" means Prism can look at your data but cannot change it. It cannot edit your settings, add or remove users, or delete anything in your Google accounts.

Who can see the data in Prism

Each connection belongs to one project. People on that project's team can see its reports. Which pages each person sees depends on their role and the pages turned on for the project. See Roles and permissions and Team members.

How to remove Prism's access

You can remove Prism's access at any time from your Google account.

  1. Open your Google Account permissions

  2. Find Prism

Look for Prism in the list of apps with access to your account.

  3. Remove access

    Choose to remove its access.

After this, Prism cannot read your data. The card on the Integrations screen shows ⚠ Needs attention. If you change your mind, click Reauthenticate. See Reconnect or disconnect.
