This page explains the account menu, how sign-in sessions work, and the two panels in Prism.
The account menu
Your name appears at the bottom of the left sidebar. Click it to open the account menu. It has two options:
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Change password | Opens a box where you choose a new password. See Change your password. |
| Log out | Signs you out right away and takes you to the sign-in page. |
How long you stay signed in
After you sign in, you stay signed in for up to 7 days on that browser. After that, you need to sign in again.
If your session ends while you are working, a page may show Invalid token or No token provided. This is not a problem with your data. Sign in again and carry on.
If you are not signed in and open a Prism page, Prism sends you to the sign-in page.
The Prism panel and the Client panel
Prism has two panels. They do different jobs.
| Prism panel | Client panel | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is for | All the reports | Project administration |
| Who can open it | Every signed-in user | Project admins and owners |
| What you find there | Unified Dashboard, Analytics, Advanced Analytics, rank tracking, LLM Tool, Integrations | Team, Project settings, Keyword Setting |
When you sign in, Prism opens the Prism panel. In its top bar, the Current Project switcher lets you move between your projects. Type in Search projects… to find one. The + New project button in the switcher opens the Client panel.
If you can't open a page
You may see one of these messages:
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| You need admin or owner access on at least one project to open this panel. | You tried to open the Client panel, but you are a viewer on all your projects. |
| You don't have permission to view this page. | Your role does not allow this page. The page also says Please contact your administrator if you believe this is a mistake. |
| This module isn't available | The page is not turned on for this project, or your admin has restricted it for you. |
Click Return to Prism panel to go back to your reports. To get more access, ask your project admin or owner. Learn more in Roles and permissions.
If you have no projects yet
If the Client panel shows No projects assigned yet, your account is not linked to a project workspace. Ask your admin to add you to a project. See Team members.
